Three Dead in Early Morning Motorcycle Collision in La Castellana, Negros Occidental
In a fatal accident occurring around 1:20 a.m. yesterday on the Provincial Road of Hacienda Alipion, Barangay Lalagsan, La Castellana, Negros Occidental, three individuals lost their lives following a severe motorcycle collision.
The deceased include a man known as "Yoyong" from Barangay Cabagna-an and his back rider, "Itsoy," both riding a Rusi motorcycle. The third victim was Vicente Mission II, 46, a public school teacher from Zone 3, Barangay Tinongan, Isabela town, who was operating a Kawasaki Fury motorcycle.
According to initial police reports, the Rusi motorcycle was heading from Isabela toward La Castellana when it collided head-on with the Kawasaki Fury, which was traveling in the opposite direction. Authorities noted that "Yoyong" appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
The impact caused critical injuries to both motorcycle drivers and the passenger. Despite rapid transportation to the nearest hospital, all three were declared dead upon arrival.
PMaj. Romulo Gepilango V, Officer-in-Charge of the La Castellana Municipal Police Station, confirmed the incident and stated that the motorcycles involved have been confiscated for further investigation and proper handling.
The incident underscores the dangers of impaired driving and the importance of road safety vigilance.
