Benguet Governor Leads Delegation to Korea Local Diplomacy Forum
Benguet Governor Melchor Daguines Diclas spearheaded the provincial delegation to the 2025 3rd Korea Local Diplomacy Forum held on Tuesday, December 2, in Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea. The event highlighted Chungcheongbuk-do’s export performance, investment opportunities, foreign resident policies, as well as its tourism and medical tourism initiatives aimed at enhancing global partnerships and community-focused projects.
Accompanying the Benguet delegation was Ambassador Edwin Gil Q. Mendoza, Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General of the Philippine Embassy. The forum was organized by the Provincial Government of Chungcheongbuk-do, under the leadership of Governor Kim Young-hwan. It convened delegates from the province’s international sister and friendship cities alongside representatives from Korea’s diplomatic community.
Governor Diclas and his team engaged in various discussions to promote economic and cultural exchange, strengthening ties between Benguet and its Korean counterparts. The event underscored mutual commitment to advancing local diplomacy and fostering sustainable development through collaborative efforts.
