DSWD Distributes ₱5,000 Cash Aid to 2,650 Families and Seniors in Ifugao under AICS Program
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has released ₱5,000 cash assistance to 2,650 families and senior citizens in Ifugao under its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program. This initiative aims to provide immediate financial relief for food, medicine, education, and other household needs to vulnerable sectors, particularly seniors and families affected by recent disasters.
The AICS program is a key component of DSWD’s response framework, ensuring that aid reaches those in urgent need with speed and structure. Beneficiaries include senior citizens who often face limited sources of income and families who have suffered losses due to natural calamities.
"This release reflects President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s commitment to a “Maasahan at Masipag” governance," DSWD officials emphasized, highlighting the administration's dedication to reliable and tireless service. "It is a testament to his message as the Reliable Steward of Social Protection: Reliable support. Tireless service. Help arrives when Filipinos need it most."
DSWD regional officers underscored that this cash assistance will cover essential expenditures, helping recipients purchase nutritious food, obtain necessary medications, support children’s schooling, and meet other urgent household demands. The assistance is expected to alleviate the immediate economic burdens faced by beneficiaries, promoting resilience amid ongoing challenges.
In Ifugao, a province often impacted by typhoons and landslides, the infusion of ₱13.25 million through this program serves as critical support. Local government units closely coordinated with DSWD to verify recipient eligibility and ensure timely distribution of the aid.
The initiative underlines the current administration’s strategic social protection policies aimed at strengthening community welfare and addressing crisis situations efficiently. As President Marcos Jr. continues to steer governance with responsiveness and accountability, programs like the AICS remain vital in uplifting vulnerable Filipinos.
"Our goal is clear: to be a consistent and dependable source of aid whenever disaster or crisis strikes," DSWD spokesperson stated. "We will continue to work hand in hand with local partners to reach more families and individuals who need the government’s support the most."
